At 2:30 this afternoon my newly aquired vehicle was settled into it's place.
A buddy at work asked me to give him a ride home to look a a vw. I said ok.
we get there and behind his garage sat a 1972 squareback. all stock completely. the window behind the passenger door wasa busted out.
it's not running right now. I was told that the motor was rebuilt by custom vw's shop some 10 yrs ago. i won't shift into 3rd gear. the body is straight except for dents above the jacking points. the hood has a dent like someone sat on it Mad
how much you ask?????
this is the best part........

as per one of the threads on the samba. I pulled the fuel pump to chack it. i pulled the fuel tank and fuel sensor. the sensor looked like it was dipped in grease and smelled like varnish. the fuel lines are full of varnished gas. the pump was varnished badly. so i'll be picking up some new fuel lines and clean the injectors.
any ideas how to clean the injectors besides soaking them in fresh gas or super clean.

it took me 3 hrs to pull the motor and tranny as a single unit. first time for that. the seals for the injectors are shot. does anyone have some for sale?
or have a dual carb setup to trade? i have a lot of bug body parts to sweeten the deal.

OK, take my advice or not. You need to replace EVERY single piece of fuel hose on the the whole car. It won't be cheap or easy, but the only other choice is the car catching fire.

There needs to be a hose clamp on every junction. You need to make sure it is good quality 5/16 injection hose, the original type VW hose no longer works because of the ethanol in the fuel.
Light House should have the fuel filter and seals, you will have to go to NAPA for the fuel hose.

got my venting, vac lines, injector tip seals and 1 1/4 hose for the air box.
can't find the heat tubing. total cost close to $50.00 .
not bad for a car i got for free. i had another tranny just swapped out the nose cone and pulled the battery from the blazer.
anyone need a 94 s10 blazer for parts? or know someone who does?
