I hate to sound like a party pooper but does anyone know why the BugFair is always on the same weekend as Hoopfest AND on one of the hottest days of summer?
In my humble opinion, it would seem to effect attendance; we have a kid who plays hoopfest yearly and that plus the weather has kept us from attending in the past. |

We have been doing the show for longer than Hoopfest has been around (5yrs) so in the beginning it was not an issue. In the beginning we had to schedule around other shows and weather, and then other events at theFairgrounds. Then to keep the venue we kept the date.

I appreciate the reply/explanation Mr. President! A BIG THANK YOU for all the hard work and coordination that goes into putting the BugFair on all these years!
So now that it's understood that Hoopfest is mostly to blame...then maybe?

No Hoopfest isn't to blame. Just trying to point out there is are many things involved when it comes to putting on an event more than one time.

Yeah, I was wondering the same thing Troy (if the show was 2 days)...if we attended club meetings we'd probably know the answer  We have been attending for the last 2 years, and the whole family looks forward to it now!! 2 days would be even better!!

No, show is only Sunday. We just put the Sat date up for a possible prefunction event.

Assuming that the drag stip is open that weekend, you should see about having one lane for bugs and do a drag race. I'll have my bug ready by then and I could try and twist Bruce's arm to get his out too.

Bugfair is a VW only car show and swap meet that RCVW Club has put on for 25yrs (2010 will be the 26th). The race track may be an option for future events if the County gets it straightened out, but probably not for this years show.
