EMPI parts quality?

I'm rebuilding my engine and just got a set of new EMPI connecting rods. Then I read on the VW forums that EMPI parts are made in China and are poor quality.

Has anyone here had any experience with with EMPI parts?

New EMPI parts tend to be junk , I would not buy anything EMPI unless it was NOS in the package made in the USA EMPI (hasn't been made since the 70's). Go on www.thesamba .com and search EMPI , you will see the light . Its not so much the made in China part , but their QC is bad . TROY

I've read the reviews on theSamba and Shoptalk Forums. They all say that newer EMPI is junk. That's what made me nervous about these parts.

Good news is I found a set of reconditioned rods locally, so the rebuild is back on track.
