Well, I finally have a bus....or rather, a platform to build on! I drove almost 30 hours total to bring her home today! It's a almost rust free Kombi, canadian model... I picked up ALOT of parts with it...most are type 1, but will be great for my 62' bug. Got a complete rear (hacked out of a rusted bus), a complete 36hp motor, middle seat, and a ton of headlight housings, type 1 bumpers, and misc stuff. The front end has been torched ...I'm in need of trailing arms/ spindles/ brakes and tie rods... Cargo doors are gone, and most of the glass, and a bench front seat....butttt...I finally have a bus again, after 15 years! I'll post pics soon...need to figure it out. Seems like this forum, and the samba are the same...didn't have luck there posting pics because of the size. I can't figure out how to resize them! A member helped with the link I pasted... I'll try it out again after I get some sleep!

Easy way to do it would be to set up an account on photobucket.com and upload your pictures there, they have an option for resizing right on the site.

Here's a howto for resizing using MS paint.

Here,

You can't use something that doesn't end in .jpg or other image type extension. I went to the link you put up, then right clicked on the actual image, then properties and got the actual file name.

Thanks! We sure did make the trip...but we made it into a camping trip too. Only to find out that there aren't too many places to camp in Eastern Montana!! I'm working on getting it a rolling bus, and then do some sheet metal stuff and get it up and running by spring! Then there can be two busses driving around Medical Lake!!

I bought the Hot Rod DVD set of sheet metal repair...does that count? I've never done it...but I'll be doing alot of it this winter!! I've got pan halves and a heater channel on my girlfriends 70' bug, a battery tray on the 62'...and then there's the bus! I've got to graft in a dash (was hacked out A LONG time ago) and rocker repair...oh, and the front cargo area, was wrecked and straightened...but as long as I'm doing the rocker, I might as well fix it right. If that all goes right, I'll attempt to fix the Nova's wheel wells!!
I bought a natural gas heater for the garage a few years ago, I think it's gonna get a work out this winter!

Alright, now I'm cooking.....lemme see if I can add a few at a time here. I got a few kid free hours today to get some stuff done. Cut out the donor dash, and fitted it a few times....

It's ready for welding, but I ran out of energy.

I also ground out the 6v trans, and slid in the new power plant...I don't think this bus has had and engine in it in over 20+ years!!! Bet it felt good!

As a safety precaution....AFTER you've ground out a magnesium transmission....make SURE that all of the flammable flakes are shaken out of your hair.....BEFORE you start grinding and throwing sparks on another project!!!! I'm just sayin'......
