Anyone have these things or know where to get them? I need to adjust the steering on my Ghia, and it looks like I need a pretty flat 41mm open ended wrench and some large (25mm?), goofy, flat allen head wrench to do the adjustment. |

for the big one, in the past, I've just made a wrench to fit. If you halfway handy with you hands, it's not that hard.
Coat the inside of the adjuster with a thin coat of oil, pack it full of JB-weld and take a large diamete bolt (short one) with a nut on it, and sink it into the JB Weld, let it setup, you now have a fitting you can put an open end wrench on to adjust with.
Totally ghetto, but it works. |

Let me know when you get it figured out. The 69" I have needs a little tweaking. I have about 2" of play instead of 1". Sounds like a shop night project to me. _________________ 69' Beetle CA Look 1500SP

Also make sure, before you adjust anything, that your pitman arm pinch bolt is tight and your tie rods are good.
Reason being, if you get the steering box adjustment wrong, you can destroy it pretty quickly. |

I will have to take a look at the pitman arm pinch bolt, I just replaced the tie rod ends, and looked over everything else with a couple buddies. |
