The belt is fine. My lights all work, none of them were on.
I think I figured out the problem. It's not at all what I thought it was. I should know for sure tomorrow. |

Okay, the suspense is killing me. What made your car overheat? |

Lol!
There are two large chunks blown out of the head.
Kinda explains the lack of compression.
Some geni-ass put metal o-ring looking gaskets between the head and the cylinders. Those gaskets broken off into the combustion chamber, one thing led to another.
Long story short, I need new heads.
I have a parts car now, though, so I should be ok... |

Ouch! Thats worse than a squirrel! Those gaskets are probably the old copper "sealing rings" I used to see back in the day( I think they were originally lower cylinder shims put to a questionable use), but I've never heard of one breaking. Usually they just leak. What actually broke the head? How are the pistons, cylinder walls, sealing surface of the cylinders, etc.? Another thing you might think about, is why those things were there in the first place. Some guys would use them because they couldnt get the heads to seal. Ive seen them used as a shim, because the deck height was too shallow and they didnt want to remove the cylinders and install them correctly. So I would check the deck height on all cylinders, too. Huh! Listen to me getting all full of advice...Sorry, bad habit. |
