Just thought I would introduce myself. Just got re-infected with the vw disease after a nearly 20 year remission. Feels good to be back, and looking forward to getting to know the VW community here. Not driving anything too exciting, but its mine & I built it myself, so I'm pretty happy with it for now. As always, though, I have some future plans in mind...I would post pics, but I cant figure out how to make it work.. [/img] |

Welcome. Are you trying to link them from somewhere else you have them, or trying to upload them from your computer? I don't know of a way to upload them, but if you have your pics somewhere else like photobucket, you can click the Img button above then paste the link to the pic, and it should show up.[/img] |

I double checked the FAQ, there is definitely no place to upload directly to the site. So, what are you driving? |

65 bug, drop spindles, semi-gloss black with blade bumpers. Nothing unusual. Stock 1600 that's about to get dual 40 webers & ported heads. Lots of plans for the future, but that only happens when I get extra cash |

Welcome!
From my experience, I'd have to say that you'll definitely meet some cool people here.
Can't wait to see those pics! |

Thanks for all the welcomes! It really feels good to be back in the VW community after all these years. I did start a photobucket account so I could post pics a little easier. Here are a few of my little rat. One before, a couple just before she was roadable, and one from the first time she rolled out of the garage under her own power. Hope you like her.

Never too late to get another. This is my first roadable VW in 17 years, so I know what you mean by wishing you still had one. Especially a '66, which is my second favorite year, right behind the '57 I once owned. So, what are you driving now? |

How pretty! You should put it in the SCC car show.
Shameless plug? Why yes, it is. |

Well, I would happily do it, but the pictures actually make the car look better than it really is. Over the winter, about 100 pounds of ice & snow fell on the car from 12 feet up, crushing the center of the roof & the hood, both of which are still a little lumpy. You just cant see it in the photos. Was a sad day when I happened to take a walk out to the shop, and saw what the snow had been covering up. Should have taken pics, but I was just too bummed. |
