one thing Im very conserned about is if the bumper is going to put me to low in the front. If you look at the red bus pictured the bottom of the hurst gaurd is very low and the red bus is nowhere close to being as low as my DC.Sorry if I seem lame for having second thoughts after comitting to buy it but i I really dont know if its going to work out for me at this time.

Just grind a bit off the bottom flange. It looks like your foot step is below your bumper already, have you hit that?

Hey,

Your to nice! Just buy it. Im not sure what Im going to do with the bus yet. Sell it, or slam it and fix it up over time. My wifes Volvo hit me with an $8000.00 bill this week so now I am stuck in limbo. Hard to justify play money on my VWs after that.

Rich

Steve, I built this 15 window for Chadly...awesome bus and I drive it when I go to Wisconsin, and yes, it does scrape the front Hurst going in steep driveways....but hey, that's what makes it cool! If I had the extra money, I would put it on my '55.

Is the Hurst built for pressed bumpers, or later bumpers? Who made it?

It was made by luftkraft out of colorado and is supposed to fit pressed or later bumpers.

The difference is in the brackets...I had to make new brackets for the above Hurst to fit the later bumpers....took all day! I wonder what brackets you have?

The brackets that hold the hurst to the bumper are a c shape and it has 2 pieces of angle iron that mount to the beam. I will get a picture on here of them.
