To all you late beetle/Super beetle owners out there. Does anyone have factory/dealer AC installed? How does it work? Any truth to the fact that it takes power from the engine?

I have no idea how the V-dub does it, but any other pulls down the ponies pretty large.
My ol' `71 has no such luxury, so don't know.
Could check my Bentley's book when I get home, as I believe it does have an AC
section in there... _________________

In all seriousness, I have seen two bugs with working a/c. one was a pickup looking thing here in town....and it did load the engine something bad, at least 25%.
The other, was a god luagh. It was a convertible 78, auto stick, with a/c, and fuel injection, and to top that all off....it was california emisioned.....what a feck of a job that was to pull. |

I saw that dude's van in SuperOne's parking lot the 1st day he drove it this summer
season. Absolutely immaculate.
Beautiful bus... _________________

The picup was herr schmidts old green one. It was a converted beetle pickup. The funny part, is some asshole around this town, stole the motor out of it, that why we ended up selling it.
Karma is a bitch though......I hope the jerk got what he deserved. |
