'56 Custom Project

 Description:
This is a body that I rescued from a now closed wrecking yard in Seattle back in 1992. It was hit so hard in the passenger rear quarter that the car was rolled up on the driver side and the rain gutter was crushed.

First thing to do is fix the inside of the quarter. This was some sloppy work, but what do you expect from an 18 year old?

 Description:
I got the quarter cut out and found a bunch of rust behind it. The car sat with no windows in the wrecking yard for a few years.

The majority of the rust has all be blasted away. It's gonna take some work to replace the soft metal though.

The outside portion of the heater channel is finished. I still need to do some work from the back. But I have to pull the body off the pan for that.

I like the front fenders, I think they turned out quite well. The pan is a '69.

I think the place was called Alsop. It was in Everett not far off I-5.

There is still some work to do on the back edge where the deck lid meets the fender. After that is cut and tacked in, I need to get a piece for the bottom of the quarter and rebuild the door jam.

The entire quarter has now been replaced and everything is tacked in. All that's left is final welding and a ton of grinding.
