OK, here is the deal. I am finding myself in a bind and, as much as I regret this, I need to sell my 66' bug. It is becoming an issue with funds and transporting my kids. It is a project but with some TLC, is would be a great buy for someone that is more mechanically minded than I am.
It has a 1600 and was converted to 12V. The motor needs tuning, exterior work (nothing too major), the interior is bare (no carpet or that tar insulation), low backs are in good shape, brake lights dont work or the right turn signal, I bought a new black 12V box for the electrical, I have an extra deck lid that is in great shape, I have 4 new black lap belts (3 are still in the packaging), I also bought a new 30-pict-1 carb for $170 (bought off of JC Whitney) that I installed but decided to take back off (you can buy it from me or I will send it back), There is nothing wrong with the carb that is one there and it was rebuilt back in January, new belt, the distributer is in good shape, new fuel pump, new wipers, fuses and bulbs, the battery floor pan needs to be welded in (I have a new one), also the heating channels needs to be looked at. The biggest issue mechanically it that there is too much gas being dumped into the motor. The float is not sticking so my best guess is that the timing is off.
I know that this may seem like a lot, however, it is in great shape and just needs the right person to make her complete.
Im asking $1300 plus $140 if you want the new carb too. I will post pictures asap. |
