Why is it the VW industry calls a 78.8mm crank a 78mm, but still call 90.5mm P&C sets 90.5's and not 90mm?

Why not a 79 stroke? (If you're rounding it off to the nearest number)

By the way I have a SCAT 78.8 in my red car.

That's kinda what got me thinking about this, you called your engine a 2028cc, and it's ussually called a 2007cc by the masses. I have a Bugpack (USA made) 78.8x92, 2074cc in the blue car, (if you add the .8cc it would be 2095cc), but again the masses call it a 2074cc? No big thing, just something to make you go hmm.
