the trigger shifter in my 72 standard snapped last weekend.
So, is it difficult to repair?
Would it be wiser to swap it back to a standard shifter?
Thanks!

I don't know what's involved in trying to repair it, but the only aftermarket shifter I like is Gene Bergs. Very expensive. Nothing wrong with stock shifters. |

What kind of trigger shifter is it? Hurst, EMPI knockoff, SCAT? (pics !)
Depending on what it is, it might be worth fixing.
We went through our Hurst shifter:

The the wire in it is nothing special, could replace it with some fine piano wire (like used in RC planes).
I have a spare stock one if you go that route. |

The shifter is an EMPI ...
The wire isn't much, that's true. I just don't know what would be involved in replacing it, and I am not sure why it snapped. Is it because it is an EMPI crappy shifter? Or is there an underlying problem that caused the wire to snap?
I will post a picture tomorrow.
Thanks for the replies!

Forgot to snap a picture.
I removed the shifter, and have an idea as to how it is supposed to work ... Now just need to get a wire and see about putting it back together. _________________ First was 72 Bug
