So the preps have begun on the bug! Took some measurements, jacked up the front end, pulled the swaybar, wheels, and shocks. Drained the tank and pulled the tank mounts. Now I have to find some new ball joints. I installed some cheap new regular ones around two years ago and the boot is torn off of the lower right one. I lowered the car a little over a year ago. So I am going to swap them out for a set of lowered ball joints I believe. Now its time to eat and get ready for work.
I will be doing prep work wed and thursday evening. The main cutting and welding will be friday/saturday. Hopefuly I can find some ball joints in town. If not it will go back together until they come in. If anyone wants to swing by text me @702-510-6368 I live up on 5-Mile. |

Glad to hear that you are all settled in and sounds like you got what you wanted, a place to work on the bug! Hopefully no deployments to de-rail your progress this summer!

Thanks, we are getting settled in well enough. Now its time to take care of a few things! I am hopefully going to make to the meeting and the cruise this month. It is just kinda hard since I work mid shift. |

Just did my beam. Couldn't find anyone in town that sells lowered stuff. I found some really cheap empi lowered ball joints online. I forget what website. Let me know if your curious and I'll look through my email and find the site. Good luck to ya! _________________ (o\|/o) |

Thanks, I ended up ordering the lowered ball joints from Airkewld.com.
I used the cheap ball joints when I put my car together and they didnt last so I figured I would get some better quality ones this time. |
