I am interested in putting a better sound system than this old cassette one in my Ghia. If I understand right, they don't make them to fit anymore. So, do you VWers cut out your dash some or what model/make do you recommend for sounds. I would like to have USB and bluetooth support if possible. Less than $200 would be best.
Thanks for the expertise! |

Here's my thinking. VW's are too loud to listen to the stereo, and with all the meth heads around here, a stereo just gets your car damaged. |

You can go this route

No need to cut your dash (Please dont). These radios slip right into the original hole.
If you really want to be sneaky, you can install one in the glove box, or under the seat cd changer. I've seen guys that put them in the glove box, and have an IPod input on a cable so that it's next to the driver.

You can hang the stereo under you dash but you will have a whole where the stereo goes. I have a bug and went for adjusting the whole to accommodate the stereo and have been very happy. |
