1978 Beetle Convertible for sale

I think I posted to the wrong forum so I'll try again. My husband had a stroke 3 years ago and we are unable to continue restoration on our cute bug convertible. It has a new engine and runs great. Body is near perfect and has a new paint job. See photos at http://1978vwconvertible.shutterfly.com/

I believe I have recently purchased your 1978 beetle. I have a few questions I was hoping you could awnser for me. I was wondering if you know any of the history of the bug. Also while you owned it what if any improvements or changes you may have made. We would love to return it to it's original glory and any info you have would be greatly appreciated. Thanks again, Amy
