A deluxe 1963 beetle in the states came with a 1200. I do not know if you are aware of this. A 1600 will fit; however, if the bellhousing on the transaxle has not been clearance for a 12v flywheel you are going to have to clearance the bellhousing. This requires grinding. Do not forget about the starter bushing as well. Is the car going to run 6 or 12 volt?
Sorry I can not help you right now with an engine. I am currently not living in Washington. If I were; I have a 1600 sp longblock I would let go cheap. It probably needs to be gone through though...it does spin freely.
If you are still looking by mid to late December I plan on being back up in WA.

Cool, I just wanted to make sure you knew what was involved
What I have is a longblock. Case, internals, heads, etc. It does not have rockers though. I would suggest going through it. It spins freely, but you never know. I do not have the history on it. It is an AK block. |

Well, like I said, it would not be until mid December until I would be able to make the deal.
I had the longblock listed at $100 at one time. |

I just thought I would update on this. I plan to be back in Spokane the week of the 13th. Do you still want to take a look at my longblock? The price is not firm. |
