Picked it up from being painted again! Then I dropped the engine, swaaped out the trans-axle, put the engine back in, put the interior back in, washed it up, and then went for a cruise.

Drive the wheels off that thing before you leave, cause you won't want to drive it up here in the snow with all that new shiny stuff!!

Ive got a 68 bug that was my first car 12 years ago and has been hidden in my parents garage for the last 8 years. The 1776cc I put in it back then is gonna need a little tlc for sure, it runs but not like it used to. I am planning on a full resto-custom, and am wanting to know if anybody knows where to get parts. Im over in Post Falls ID, and have only been here for a couple years. I knew where to go in seattle but have no clue where to start here. If any of you fellow VW lovers could suggest some good parts houses That would be sweet. Ill post some pictures of what she looks like now soon, and hope to post pictures throughout the entire build. By the way thats a sweet bug. _________________ 68 beetle puttin it back together. |

So my 1641 is having a oil leak after two rear main seal installs so we are getting another engine ready to put in. My friend who I bought/built this engine with is trying to finish up a 1914 to install next weekend! |

Make sure:
seal is bottomed all the way in the case
the snout of the flywheel is polished
the o-ring isn't pinched
you don't have excessive end play (beat thrust or wrong shim stack) _________________ TROY

We checked it all upon assembly and replaced the seal and o-ring when I replaced my transmision. So we are both at a loss for the moment. Not too woried, because next weekend I will have a 1914 to put into the car and he is taking the 1641. |

Well the 1641 had a very persistant leak that Noah and I could not seem to figure out. So we talked and talked and decided to pull it out for further investigation and I got a great running 1914 in its place, for a small fee. Thanks Noah!!!!!!!!!!!!
Heads opened up for the build
On the stand partialy assembled
Aint it prety.....balanced to match the crank.
Ready for its new home
All tucked in and ready to go! |

I saw your car today, well the lights and bumper anyway, over by the "lemon lot" on base. |

Well it has been a while since I updated this so here we go. I added a third brake light, CB Performance Ball joint dropped spindle disc brake package with a new master cylinder and resevoir, narrowed my beam 3", and added some new lower tins I fabbed up, as well as a new breastplate that I filled in the holes on.
